Pitcher Partners – Development Programs

Client overview

Pitcher Partners is a national association of six independent accounting, audit and business advisory firms. They’re driven to help businesses, families and individuals intelligently frame their goals and make the most of their potential.

Seed has had the privilege of partnering with the Newcastle and Hunter office.

The challenges

After three decades of operation Pitcher Partners were looking to develop their Partner group, and the Private Business & Family Advisory (PBFA) Senior Team, to take working cohesively from good to great. The P&C Manager and key Partners identified the need for workshops across the two levels of leadership to focus on aspects of high performing teams.

Pitcher Partners were seeking support from an external provider to design and deliver various workshop sessions to ensure an external perspective.

Starting Point

After a thorough conversation with Pitcher Partners key stakeholders, Seed recommended content, frameworks and practices to be embedded across the two levels of Leadership; Partners and PBFA Senior Team.

This would allow Pitcher Partners’ leaders to ‘sing from the same song sheet’ and provide consistency of leadership processes and practices across their 45 team members.

Seed People Consulting took the time to truly understand our firm’s culture and the challenges we faced. Stace offered tailored solutions that aligned perfectly with our needs. The workshops were engaging, insightful, and equipped us with practical tools to embed positive, lasting changes in our workplace. Thanks Stace and the Seed team!”

The Co-designed solution

After listening to Pitcher Partners Seed designed workshops based on their challenges and opportunities.

Positive Outcome

During 2024 Seed delivered two workshops for the PBFA Senior Team, and facilitated two Offsites for the Partner groups, as part a program of support and partnership with the relevant teams.

Across the two sessions for each group, we achieved:

  • Increased awareness of understanding and building psychological safety;
  • Embedding group trust;
  • Foundations of respectful challenging and healthy conflict;
  • Increased accountability to walking the talk; and
  • Commitment to a ‘working as one, we’re all in this together’ mentality.

Further, specific to the Partners workshops, we facilitated a deep dive into:

  • Pitcher Partners Governance & Leadership models including how to approach decisions with an infinite.
  • Pitcher Partners Governance & Leadership models including how to approach decisions with an infinite mindset, to enable more effective outcomes and decisions making across the group.

“Working with Stace was exactly what our team needed. What stood out most was her ability to engage with people at every level and adapt her approach seamlessly. At the Executive Partner level, she was sharp and direct, cutting through the noise and keeping us in check to drive clear, purposeful outcomes. The sessions moved quickly and productively, ensuring no time was wasted.

In our Divisional Team session, which included everyone from Senior Accountants to Partners, Stace demonstrated a skill for reading the room, holding attention, and keeping the sessions on track. She kept everyone accountable, knowing when to let ideas flow and when to prompt the conversations that mattered most. It was natural, effective, and impactful—exactly what we needed.”

“I have worked with Stacey in both Business Ownership and Team Leadership settings. Stacey has been able to connect in a positive way with both groups of participants for our sessions.

Importantly she is able to ensure that all attendees have a safe space to put their thoughts / opinions to the group to ensure full participation of individuals and the ability to draw out these responses. This provides a strong balance within the working teams to gain the most strategic benefit from the time allocated. Stacey’s understanding of the group also allowed for time to pivot the agenda and then the importance of bring conversations to a conclusion to ensure the agenda is also completed.

Her strategic focus allows participants to gain knowledge whilst also participating in the development of future strategic focus for the business as a whole.

Having completed these sessions, we have been able to improve our connection within the group whilst also creating a platform to improve our strategic direction.

I would strongly recommend the role that Stacey and her team are able to contribute to your Strategic Plans. Stacey contributes significant value and helps to arrive at outcomes for your organisation as you strive to bring improvements and adaptation to your successful business and team leadership.”
